Checking employees in or out of a shift is quick and flexible (i.e., clocking employees in or out of a shift). Partners are able to easily check-in or check-out of a shift on their phones based on their current GPS location compared to the shift location. You will be able to review the time employees check-in or out of shifts as well as which employees didn’t show up or were late to a shift all-in-one place.
There are several check-in / check-out validations in Shiftsmart. If a check-in or check-out time is flagged, you will see the time in red text. A check-in or check-out time could be flagged for the following reasons:
- Early Check-in: when the checked in before the shift start time
- Late Check-out: when the worker checked out after the shift end time
- Inaccurate GPS Coordinates: when workers checked in or out further than 1 mile away from the shift location
- Worked more than 8 hours: when the worker worked over 8 hours for the shift
Check-in or Check-out for Employees
If one of your employees was not able to or forgets to check-in or out on their Partner App, then you can check-in or out for them while a shift is in progress. Go to the Shifts tab, select a shift to view the shift details, select the Partner tab, then Assigned. Now you can search for the partner’s name then either select Check-in to check-in the partner or Check-out to check-out the partner.
Edit Check-in/Check-out Times
If you need to edit the check-in/out time or mark an employee as a no show, select the Check-In/Out Time to edit the times or select the checkbox for Mark as No Show. The edited times will replace the original times and will have a pencil next to them to indicate the time has been changed.
Note: These steps will need to be repeated for each partner.
Authorizing Check-in or Check-out for Timekeeping
After the shift has completed and the check-in and check-out times for each worker have been reviewed, you can authorize the worker times by selecting Authorize Shift for Payment.
